Echoes Photo Exhibition
Curated by Nanda Nasser, Echoes Photo Exhibition brings together seven talented photographers of diverse backgrounds in a compelling group exhibition at Sydney Road Gallery, running from 30 April to 17 May.
The title Echoes embraces a broad and open interpretation, reflecting how each photographer sees and responds to the world around them. What is observed - whether a moment, a place, or a person - finds its way through their cameras into an image where it resonates beyond its origin. These works may evoke memories, lingering traces, or repetitions of an event, connections, emotion, sound, or idea, each shaped and interpreted by the artist’s unique perspective and way of seeing.
Spanning both analogue and digital processes, the exhibition showcases a rich dialogue between tradition and innovation. Some artists embrace the tactile, hands-on nature of film and darkroom methods, while others explore the expansive possibilities of digital techniques. Beyond distinctions in medium or genre, the works are united by a commitment to artistic photography—where image-making becomes a means of expression rather than documentation alone. Together, their photographic practice and artworks create a layered visual experience—distinct in approach, yet connected in purpose.
Echoes Photo Exhibition is a celebration of skill, insight and creative expression—an invitation to witness how photography can carry meaning and artistic value.
